Head Lice

Head Lice

Periodically throughout the year, we will be having school-wide Head Lice checks at HPS. Trained parent volunteers will be checking all students in the school, class by class. It is the TLDSB Policy that any child found to have head lice will be excluded from school until the first shampoo treatment has been completed and the nits are removed. Your parents will be called to take you home if you have nits or active lice. An information video on head lice is available to borrow from the school along with information brochures on head lice and how to treat them. Parents, we will inform you if anyone in your child's class gets head lice. Please help us out at school by regularly checking your child's head for nits. Finding and treating head lice early will stop the spread of head lice in children. Furthermore, a pediculosis consultant with TLDSB is available for guidance.

Be There- Messages !

For December

Giving the gift of yourself every day to your children is the greatest gift of all. It doesn't take lots of time or money. Just a smile, a hug or a question will show them you care.

Be There.

For January

Making dinner is a great way to connect with your child. Have him or her plan and prepare the meal within a certain budget. Teachable moments are everywhere.

Be There.

For February  Start the new year off by connecting with your child in meaningful ways during the everyday moments of life. Turn the ordinary into extraordinary.

Teachable moments are everywhere.

Be There

For March  To share, to laugh, to cry, to wait, to wonder, to cheer, to guide, to nurture, to stay and snuggle a while.

Be There.
